		<description>I don&#039;t belief that the foundations created the nonprofit leadership gap as foundation support of the nonprofit community constitutes only a portion of its funding -but I do believe the foundations are well positioned to DO SOMETHING about this apparent gap.  The resources, knowledge and values the foundations hold can be (should be) extended to a greater number of upcoming non-profit professionals (which, in my humble opinion, there exists an ample supply).  This apparent gap provides some opportunity to explore remedies - one of which seems promising - closer partnering with Universities through internship opportunities - particularly from under-represented populations, professions, etc. This not only provides a pool for foundation succession planning but also better prepares non-profit professionals for establishing programs cognizant of best practices, program development, fundraising, etc</description>
