Hi, Greg.

I'm a little confused when you mention "newsletter." This post discusses Hildy's book and work. However, one of my prior posts discussed communications/marketing activities, like e-newsletters. Is this what you were referring to?

I think there many things you can do to reach people and raise money for your charity. It would take me a long time to list them all now. But one of the vital issues to examine is who are the stakeholders? It's important to understand stakeholders, their involvement, and their potential involvement and level of commitment.

Some questions you should ask yourself and others in your organization are: Who are the people who are most involved with my organization? Do we have a means to contact them? Are they giving already? You'll need to design some activities to bring them closer to your organization and prepare to ask them for support and/or to step up their level of commitment.

You might want to check out the Association of Fundraising Professionals website, afp.com, as one of a number of resources for more information about fundraising.

If you'd like to take this issue offline and e-mail me directly, I'll be happy to answer more questions. But considering this comment space is for questions about Hildy's interivew, I think it's best to do so offline (not to mention that whole volumes have been written about raising more money for charity).

Thanks, Greg,

Good Morning, my wife is the ED for the VA Association of social workers. She pushed out your message to her about the newsletter. I have just started to work as the Dir of Development for SpotlightRichmond.com. After reading this section I find myself asking more questions. What would you suggest I do to reach and raise the most money for our Charity? I have been a salesman all my career and fundraising is new to me. I look forward to your positive reply.
